New York, New York a city so nice…

After months of 6-day work weeks, I had a day off in the middle of the week today. It took me laying in bed until 12pm to figure out what to do with it. I originally looked into visiting The Statue of Liberty. Yes, I have yet to visit this very local monument despite having been to the Eiffel Tower twice and all of London thrice. I couldn’t get admission to the crown for today so I decided to wait until the Spring. It’s probably nicer then anyway. What’s the point of going if you can’t get a view from the top?

I decided to hit up the Natural History Museum. I’ve been meaning to go for years now. I remember going when on field trips. My mom says she took us when we were younger all the time. I just know that for the past few years I’ve had this desire to go and it hadn’t worked out, until today. Because I make shit happen!

I made a donation of $20. The “admission” fee is $22. But it’s a museum and you are technically making a donation of whatever you want. I hand the gentleman a $20 bill and he goes “the whole $20?” Yes. I guess most people don’t give that much when they only have two hours left in the day?

I got to see almost the entire museum within the two hours. I reached the dinosaurs with the 30-minute warning going off, in about 5 languages. I wasn’t running through the place so I don’t see a need for more than 3 hours unless you are sitting around and getting food.

I decided not to leave the way I came, through the subway…I walked out to the street and walked downtown along Central Park. I had looked up meetup.com options and realized that the anniversary of John Lennon’s death was today, Dec, 8th. I visited Strawberry Fields on 72nd (I think). It was awesome. A whole bunch of people were hanging out singing songs there.

I continued to Penn…

Made a couple of stops along the way. I love this city. How can you not? When people say they can’t possibly move from “New York” as in NYC, why? Do you utilize what Manhattan has to offer or are you just imagining all the things that you “could” be doing? But you’re not. Why live near all this action if you aren’t taking advantage of it? I’ve wanted to go to the museum for years now. Why haven’t I gone? Why have I only gone to a couple of Broadway shows? I don’t think I’ll be living this close to the city forever so I want to take advantage, fully. That’s what I did tonight. I saw all the NYC Christmas things today. Because why not? I might not get back in to the city in the next few weeks.

If you are living close to New York City because of all it has to offer, then TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT.

You’re paying a premium do live this close to the hub of the world. What are you waiting for?

Thank you for sharing your time with me.

I love you, Beautiful People!
