What’s not to love about brunch?

Ladies who Brunch

Today was and awesome day! I went to brunch and caught up with two of my favorites from high school. We haven’t been able to get together for a few months. Back in July, we went to a friends lake house in Connecticut for the weekend. It’s always great to get grounded with people who have known you since elementary school and travel soccer teams.

Adoro Lei is located in the west village in Manhatten. It’s a nice sized restaurant with cute details, like the large plank hardwood floors. The DJ was playing upbeat music at a conversational level, which is super important when brunching because you need to be able to catch up! First things first, drinks were ordered. My ladies ordered some special cocktail, but it’s brunch, so I was totally cool with the Bottomless Brunch option of Sangria Blanco for $19. They had red sangria, mimosas, bellinis, or an

assassin punch. I’d probably try the punch next time just for fun. The Sangria Blanco was a solid beverage that I would absolutely recommend.

Once we stopped talking long enough to look at the menu we decided to get sides of vegetables with each of out entrees. Best decision ever. The entrees were delicious. I ordered an omelet from the custom omelet station…yum. My friends both ordered the Steak and eggs. But the vegetables were OMG! We ordered the roasted cauliflower, asparagus (with a poached egg), and the roasted beets with kale. Made all the difference in the meal.

Not to forget that the lovely gentleman that is friends with one of our group. He hooked us up with shots of a smoky Mezcal. Mezcal is made from the agave plant, like tequila but there are some specific differences. Like Scotch and Whiskey…)

The truffle rice balls are worth the trip into Manhattan on their own. Truffle anything gets Tracie’s attention. Let’s just put that out there. I am regretting that I did not order the truffled mushrooms. It’s on my definite list next time I dine at this lovely establishment.

Oh, we’re not done just yet! This is a pizza joint after all. There are these two magical pizzas that must be tried. Henriette is up on the next visit….

The dessert pizza

GIACOMO $20 Our Savory Cocoa Crust Pie w/ Jacques Torres Cocoa & Nibs/ Our House Made Mozzarella/Bacon/ Fig Puree/Gorgonzola/Caramelized Onions

You might see one of these ingredients and think “I thought you were mostly vegetarian, but eat seafood occasionally and now eat locally, humanely raised chicken.” Yes, there is bacon on this magical delight. I pulled it off. It was worth it. This pizza is savory and sweet and everything good in the world in one bite. Yes. You need to experience it for yourself!

I love brunch. Especially an awesome bottomless brunch with beautiful people to accompany the event. Where have you been to brunch that I need to check out? I am always open to recommendations!

Thank you for sharing your time with me.

Love you, Beautiful People!
